THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING
Meals:
- A full breakfast is included in the tariff.
- We have an in-house caretaker/cook who will take care of your meal preferences. Lunch / Dinner are available on prior notice.
- Both Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian options are available if you are ordering from the in-house menu. Guests may also bring their own raw material and make use of the in-house kitchen.
- Please follow meal timings:
Breakfast: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Lunch: 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Dinner: 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm
House Rules:
- Check-in time: 02:00 PM
- Check-out time: 11:00 AM
- Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music after 11 PM.
- Services of the staff are available until 10:00 PM
- We follow a strict no smoking policy inside the house since a lot of wood has been used for the interiors. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.
- Please be careful or ask the caretaker for help while placing wood in the fireplace. We usually keep dry wood in storage but if it has been raining, dry wood might not be availble.
- Please respect your surroundings since the property is set in the midst of an orchard. Do not pluck the flowers / fruits or disturb wildlife here.
Wifi and Connectivity:
- We have a 4G wifi router in place if you are planning to work from Hushstay x Hakushu.
- There is a good 4G connectivity for Airtel and Jio users, unless the weather is bad.
Getting There:
- Hushstay x Hakushu is located away from all the hustle-bustle of the popular hill-stations in a small village called Sainj.
Nearest Railway Station (Kalka) – 117 kms / 3.5 hrs
Nearest Airport (Chandigarh) – 145 kms / 04 hrs
Shimla – 50 kms / 1.5 hrs
Solan – 80 kms / 2.5 hrs
Theog – 30 kms ahead / 1 hr
Kotkhai – 30 kms ahead / 1 hr
Kufri – 42 km / 1.5 hrs
Delhi – 08 hrs - As with all great places, getting to this paradise-of-a-location requires one to drive on a steep dirt road for about 200 meters.
- The dirt road is recommended only for experienced drivers or if you have a 4×4 vehicle. Otherwise, you may park your car on the metal road head and walk the last 100m to the property. Our staff will help you out with the luggage.
Accommodation:
- This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking.
- The house has just one bedroom but there is space for 02 more extra mattresses and in total it can accommodate up to 04 guests.
- Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, we do have a backup inverter. Basic lighting and a few plug points work on backup.
- Geysers and heaters are provided but will not work in case there is a power outage.
- Please note that like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air-conditioner at the property. The Hakushu House has been designed in such a way that there is proper wind circulation if the windows are opened in the afternoon.
Cancellation Policy:
- Date of booking – 31 days before arrival : 25 % cancellation fee on the total booking amount
- 30 Days – 15 Days : 50 % cancellation fee on the total booking amount.
- Within 14 days from date of arrival : No refunds
- Bookings can be rescheduled in special cases.
