This place is no less than a gem. Situated in the middle of the Sainj Valley, it’s a perfect getaway with your friends and family. The homestay is well kept, has very contemporary interiors, cozy space to rejuvenate and full of positive vibes. The caretakers (Sunita and Pooja didi) are also very sweet and caring. They would cook you the most delicious food and with their hospitality you wouldn’t feel you are away from your home. Even the owner of the property Ms. Minakshi was very responsive and helping. She also planned a very sweet welcome for us and got the living room decorated with balloons and candles. My stay there was extremely splendid and fulfilling. Excellent place to stay. Lovely view from the Hut. You feel in arms of nature here. Plucking apples and pears from the orchard, and having them was too much fun.

The Hakushu project was an amazing experience. Minakshi is a wonderful host. Her warmth made us look forward to the trip even more. She kept in touch with us through our road journey and even ensured we get everything necessary as we were traveling with a small baby.

The cottage, in foot of the hills surrounded by apple trees is an architectural beauty in itself. Sunita didi and Pooja didi were were sweet and helpful. They cooked fresh vegetables from their garden. The food was yum. The trail to the river was easy and fun. If you are looking for some time away from your regular routine. Just drive to it. We stayed for 5 days.Location is amazing as its away from the hustle bustle of the city.Don’t expect any activity as there’s nothing around other than riverside small trek.
Place comes with its own PROS and CONS
Since the place doesn’t have AC ,the upstairs area turns into a FURNACE which makes it impossible for nap time or relaxing in afternoon.Fans aren’t effective at all.downstairs is slightly better only if u r in front of the table fan.
Food is massive issue here as the options are very limited.So be prepared to eat almost same thing on daily basis.
Snack portions are too small.
We have been doing lot of roadtrips to all homestay/Airbnb/ offbeat destinations but we never faced any food issues before.cook Sunita couldn’t provide us with basic Nimboo pani/Lemon soda as they didn’t have lemons only.
Though attitude of host Minakshi was very good along with the staff members Pooja and Prakash but it isn’t enough if the stay isn’t comfortable.
COOK Sunita is ready to stop serving only before we finish eating.honestly  among all the staff members she was the only one whose attitude we didn’t like.

To everyone who is planning a stay at Hakushu! If you are planning to relax and destress , this is the place to be. I went there with my wife and 2 kids (5 year old and the new born who is just 50 days old), as i wanted to spend some time with my kids .
The staff is amazingly polite and cooperative. The stay is super comfortable. Food was cooked according to our choice and palate and served with superb presentation.
The trek down to the river stream is the highlight! Dont skip it. It is worth the effort.
And one more suggestion- if weather forecast mentions  rain! Dont worry about it , rains made our stay even more pleasant .
Also do carry a camera as sainj has a very rich flora and wildlife and you may get a chance to see some like i did.
Not to forget the amazing host Minakshi ,who stayed in touch with us and took care of our needs even though she herself was not in india at the time of our stay.
We really appreciate all the care and hospitality she did for us

Occasion- went to celebrate 15th wedding anniversary.Hard to describe what makes this place special. It’s a combination of few amazing and multiple little things. Remarkable Aspects 1. The host and the attending local ladies are the most hospitable. They create an experience for you. 2. The cottage and the location is perfect if you are a romantic couple, solo nature lover, or people seeking quiet away from city. 3. The river trek which flows below4. The hot jacuzzi overlooking the mountains5. The fireplace in the evening Other great aspects: The indoor board games, books, food, music which can echo nicely. What makes this place really special are the intangible experiences. I am visiting again. Minakshi's stay is secluded, overlooking apple trees and a lovely river. The interiors were chic, and there was a thoughtfully constructed path to the river. The place is maintained meticulously daily and is kept very clean. I recommend following the trail down to the river and spending an afternoon there, undisturbed and peaceful. We visited during the off-season and were disappointed to find that some amenities were not available (hot tub, cylinder heater) and most of the property was under construction, including the road leading to the house. We were not informed about these before arriving. The lead staff seemed irritable, confused and overbearing (perhaps because of how much construction was being managed). She got several food orders wrong, came to the house nearly every 60-90 minutes, served two dishes undercooked, didn't let our driver use the toiet at Hakushu before he left, said no to fixing our heater but began fixing it the very next morning for the next guest.

One of the best Airbnb’s in the world. Bespoke architecture and great hospitality. Very friendly host and staff. You will be disconnected from your day-to-day living at your will, there are no scope of any complaints. There’s a river down the valley just 10 minutes from the stay.
